Course Information
This Ageing and Learning Disabilities training course is designed for care and support staff who want to deepen their understanding of how ageing affects individuals with learning disabilities. As people with learning disabilities are living longer than ever before, it is essential that staff recognise the unique challenges, health needs, and social factors that influence ageing within this population.
The course explores the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social aspects of ageing, alongside the conditions and barriers that may disproportionately affect people with learning disabilities. By the end of the session, attendees will be better equipped to provide person‑centred, compassionate, and informed support that promotes wellbeing, independence, and dignity.
