Course Information
This Autism Awareness training course is designed to enhance participants’ understanding of autism and associated behaviours, recognising autism as part of the wider neurodiversity spectrum. The course is essential for healthcare workers, social care staff, educators, and anyone supporting autistic individuals, as it provides the knowledge and practical insight needed to deliver sensitive, person‑centred care.
By exploring how autism affects communication, behaviour, sensory processing, and daily living, the training helps staff reduce misunderstandings, improve access to services, and create more inclusive environments. Early identification, appropriate support strategies, and respectful, informed interactions all contribute to improved wellbeing and quality of life for autistic people.
By the end of the course, participants will have a deeper understanding of autism within the context of neurodiversity, along with practical approaches to supporting individuals and groups effectively.
