About the Course
Alzheimer’s Disease Awareness Training
Alzheimer’s Disease Awareness training is essential for health and social care professionals, equipping them with the specialist knowledge and practical skills needed to support individuals living with this progressive neurological condition. This course explores the challenges people with Alzheimer’s may experience—such as changes in mobility, swallowing, communication, and daily living—helping staff develop empathy, understanding, and confidence in their approach.
Delegates will learn to recognise the signs and symptoms of Alzheimer’s disease, understand the underlying causes, and explore effective, person‑centred strategies for providing safe, compassionate care. The session also focuses on promoting meaningful activity, reducing distress behaviours, and supporting individuals to maintain dignity and quality of life.
