Down’s Syndrome Awareness Training
This Down’s Syndrome Awareness training course provides healthcare and social care staff with a clear understanding of the condition, including its genetic basis, common characteristics, and the diverse ways it may influence health, development, and daily life. The session focuses on building confidence in providing compassionate, individualised support that promotes dignity, independence, and inclusion.
Participants will explore how Down’s Syndrome may affect physical health, communication, learning, and emotional wellbeing, and will learn practical approaches for supporting individuals across a range of care settings. The course encourages reflective practice and equips staff with strategies that strengthen relationships with individuals, families, and carers.
