Course Information
Enteral feeding training is vital for care workers, nurses, and healthcare assistants who support individuals unable to meet their nutritional needs by mouth. This course provides staff with the knowledge and practical understanding required to administer enteral nutrition safely, maintain feeding equipment, and recognise when to escalate concerns.
Proper training helps prevent complications such as infection, aspiration, tube displacement, and blockages, while ensuring that individuals receive the correct nutritional support in line with their care plan.
For clinically qualified staff, protocols and procedures relating to the administration of feeds and medications can be included, although all competencies must be assessed within the delegate’s own organisational policy and governance framework. Practical simulation and hands‑on assessment are available only on the full one‑day theory and practical course.
